Job summary

WSP seeks a Technical Director Electrical Engineering, Renewables to lead owner’s engineer activities for solar, wind, and BESS projects across the US. This role focuses on cradle‑to‑grave leadership, client interfaces, and guiding discipline engineers through design, review, and construction phases.

You will mentor staff, advance RBU initiatives, and collaborate with global teams to improve processes and deliver high‑quality electrical infrastructure solutions in a dynamic energy market.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering or related field.
• 12+ years of relevant post-education experience as an electrical engineer.
• Proficiency with electrical engineering principles, practice, process and permitting.
• Strong knowledge of BOP design and related systems.
• Experience mentoring staff to support growth and development.
• Knowledge of applicable engineering laws, codes and compliance practices.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills for technical and non‑technical audiences.
• Willingness to travel occasionally and handle diverse project schedules.

Responsibilities

• Lead cradle‑to‑grave Owner's Engineer opportunities, owning client interfaces and guiding discipline engineers.
• Provide leadership for designs and studies for solar, wind, and BESS facilities across the US.
• Oversee QA/QC activities and standardize project delivery across the RBU.
• Engage in business development activities including client meetings and conferences.
• Mentor staff and stay current with evolving BOP engineering practices.
• Coordinate with cross‑discipline teams and external partners to ensure compliant, safe design.
