Job summary

WSP is seeking a Technical Director Electrical Engineering, Renewables to lead the Renewables Business Unit's OE capabilities across the US. The role centers on cradle-to-grave ownership, client engagement, and mentoring engineers while delivering solar, wind, and BESS projects within the private sector.

You will guide design reviews, ensure QA/QC, foster cross-discipline collaboration, and drive process improvements across multiple offices nationwide, including remote coordination where needed.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering or related field required.
• 12+ years of post-education experience as an electrical engineer in renewables.
• Strong knowledge of electrical design, BOP, codes, and project delivery processes.
• Experience mentoring staff and leading mid-to-senior teams.

Responsibilities

• Grow Owner’s Engineer capabilities within the Renewables Business Unit.
• Lead cradle-to-grave Owner’s Engineer opportunities and oversee client interfaces.
• Develop business cases for Asset Lifecycle/Repowering opportunities.
• Oversee QA/QC activities related to EOR projects and standardize delivery processes.
• Provide project leadership for solar, BESS, and wind designs; manage budgets and subcontractors.
