Job summary

WSP is seeking a Technical Director Electrical Engineering for Renewables in Arlington, VA, with remote options nationwide. The role emphasizes client engagement, renewables subject matter expertise, and team leadership across solar, wind, and BESS projects in the private sector.

You will guide cradle-to-grave execution, mentor staff, and advance the RBU OE strategy while collaborating with global engineering resources and diverse stakeholders to deliver high-quality, compliant designs.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering or related field required.
• 12+ years of post-education experience as an electrical engineer for renewables.
• Strong knowledge of electrical construction laws, codes, and regulatory requirements.
• Experience mentoring staff and leading mid- to senior-level teams.

Responsibilities

• Lead cradle-to-grave Owner’s Engineer opportunities and client interface.
• Provide leadership for designs and studies for solar, BESS, and wind facilities.
• Oversee QA/QC activities and standardize project delivery across the RBU.
• Coordinate with internal and external teams, including global WSP offices, on projects.
