Join to apply for the Renewables Senior Electrical Engineer role at POWER Engineers.

POWER Engineers, Inc. is seeking a Senior Electrical Engineer for our Renewables Business Unit. This position can be based at an existing POWER office or remotely from a mutually agreed-upon location.

The successful candidate will work with a multidisciplinary engineering team to lead and execute electrical power system design for renewable projects. Responsibilities include creating construction drawings, specifications, bills of material, power system studies, and reports. Candidates should demonstrate solid knowledge of grounding, lightning and surge protection, lighting, protective relaying, panelboards, low and medium voltage switchgear, medium voltage substations, PV solar, BESS, wind systems, DER, and microgrids. Familiarity with NESC, NEC, NFPA standards, IEEE standards, and experience with modeling tools like ETAP, PTW, or EasyPower are preferred.

Key attributes include team leadership, mentoring, excellent communication, personal motivation, a positive attitude, and multi-project management skills. The role requires creating accurate effort estimates, client proposals, and ensuring project completion within budget and schedule. The candidate will interface with clients and may need to travel to vendor and client sites.

Responsibilities Include:

1. Managing client relationships in renewables.
2. Mentoring junior staff.
3. Designing low and medium voltage renewable projects across various disciplines.
4. Conducting cross-discipline reviews.
5. Ensuring quality procedures are followed.
6. Managing project schedules, budgets, and quality, including cost estimates.
7. Collaborating with project and department managers.
8. Performing QA/QC for deliverables.
9. Leading proposal efforts and supporting larger projects.

Minimum Education/Experience:

• BSEE/BSCE or equivalent from an accredited university, preferably with a power focus.

Preferred Education/Experience:

• Professional engineering license.
• 10+ years in PV solar, BESS, microgrids, DER, and wind projects.
• Experience with proposals, design, calculations, cost estimating, client reviews, and construction support.
• Ability to coordinate with multiple discipline leads and project teams.
• U.S. Citizenship.

Base salary ranges from $90,000 to $140,000, depending on experience and qualifications. Salaries are determined based on knowledge, skills, and experience, and do not include bonuses or other benefits.
