About the Position:

We are seeking an Electrical Engineer with experience supporting operational wind, solar, and BESS facilities. Responsibilities include troubleshooting remotely or onsite, developing standard practices, and supporting site personnel with SCADA, alarm management, substation components, protections, controls, switching procedures, and maintenance programs. This position may be remote.

What you will be doing:

• Support unplanned outages by analyzing relay event files to guide onsite teams and reduce service restoration time.
• Troubleshoot and test devices and systems to resolve alarms and faults.
• Collaborate with SMEs and cross-functional teams to restore equipment in a timely manner.
• Develop and maintain equipment reliability procedures.
• Communicate regularly with managers and plant personnel to ensure customer satisfaction.
• Lead or participate in business improvement initiatives.
• Oversee external professionals and OEMs, ensuring work aligns with company procedures and expectations.
• Follow internal controls and develop new ones as needed.
• Perform root cause analysis and present findings to teams and management.
• Assist with NERC compliance requirements.
• Travel approximately 25% of the time.

What you bring to this role:

• Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering or related field.
• At least 3 years of experience in equipment maintenance and troubleshooting for power systems.
• Analytical, detail-oriented, organized, and capable of multitasking.
• Basic knowledge of communication systems used in power industry, including SEL relays/RTAC, network devices, and substation equipment.
• Problem-solving skills and the ability to react resourcefully in team settings.
• Effective communication skills across organizational levels.
• Strong electrical troubleshooting skills.
• Ability to interpret technical documentation and drawings.
• Proficiency with tools like SEL, MS Office, data systems, and databases.
• Willingness to be on call nights, weekends, and holidays on a rotating basis.
• Willingness to travel and provide technical support at plants.

Preferred qualifications include:

• Over 5 years of experience in renewables.
• Advanced degrees in Electrical or Electronics Engineering.
• Experience with SCADA systems, substation components, or protection and control systems.

Pay Range: $90,000 - $160,000. We offer a comprehensive benefits package, including Medical, Dental, 401(k), and more.
