Job summary

McKinstry in Minneapolis, MN is seeking a Construction Project Engineer for the Distributed Energy Renewables (DER) National division. You will coordinate RFPs, procurement, contracts, and field activities while interfacing with architects, engineers and owners to support project management.

Ideal candidates will have a BA/BS in a relevant field or equivalent experience, strong MS Office proficiency, and a willingness to lead project documentation and safety efforts in a collaborative

Qualifications

• Ability to read and interpret construction plans, specs, contracts, proposals, estimates.
• Knowledge of construction concepts required.
• Intermediate knowledge of MS Word, Excel, Outlook, and Project; SharePoint preferred.
• Customer service and/or office administration experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Support RFPs and procurement processes.
• Track current and future jobs and staffing projections.
• Review contracts, drawings, specs, and other resources.
• Coordinate equipment procurement with vendors and purchasing.
• Assist in developing Scope of Work for subcontractors.
• Coordinate site setup, mobilization, and project closeout.
• Assist in monthly financial reporting.
• Communicate with Architect, Engineer and Owner for daily duties.
• Coordinate field activities of self-performed and subcontracted work.
