Job summary

McKinstry in Seattle seeks a Construction Operations Manager to lead solar PV, Battery Energy Storage and other DER projects nationwide, ensuring customer satisfaction and profitable outcomes.

You will coach teams, manage the project lifecycle, forecast needs, control costs and align field work with McKinstry standards and safety requirements. This role collaborates with business development, field teams and other units to win work and deliver high‑quality installations.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree preferred or equivalent professional experience.
• 10+ years of DER industry experience (Solar, BESS, microgrid, other).
• 7+ years of project management experience.
• 7+ years of experience leading people with a high standard of excellence.
• Strong business acumen.
• Proficient in forecasting and managing cost types.

Responsibilities

• Hire, coach, and performance manage team members consistent with McKinstry values.
• Schedule and host the monthly Project Management Meeting with focus on training team members.
• Be an integral part of monthly Project Reviews and Project Plan Presentations.
• Participate with Business Unit Manager in monthly department forecasting, annual planning, and department monthly meeting.
• Manage proactive staffing which compares project and assignments to a roster of resources.
• Take responsibility for proactive view of upcoming work and communicating that to all of the interested downstream partners.
• Ensure we execute professional high-quality installations on all projects.
• Work with safety dept. to manage safety training and implementation for all projects.
• Attend client meetings, interviews and events as needed.
• Take on pursuits and budgeting exercises as assigned.
