Job summary

McKinstry, based in Minneapolis, MN, is seeking a Construction Project Engineer for the Distributed Energy Renewables (DER) National division. The role involves collaborating on project design, understanding customer requirements, and solving problems to meet goals in a fast-paced environment.

The position emphasizes coordinating RFPs, procurement, and subcontractor relationships, with a focus on safety and quality. A BA/BS in a related field and strong MS Office/SharePoint skills are preferred.

Qualifications

• BA/BS in Construction Management, Mechanical, Electrical, Architecture or Facilities Management (or equivalent).
• Knowledge of construction concepts and ability to read plans and specs.
• Proficiency with MS Word, Excel, Outlook and Project; SharePoint preferred.
• Customer service and office administration experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Support RFP and procurement processes.
• Track current and future projects and staffing needs.
• Review contracts, drawings, specs, and other resources to answer questions.
• Coordinate equipment procurement and expediting material with vendors.
• Assist in developing scope of work for subcontractors.
• Coordinate job setup, site mobilization, project administration and closeout.
• Assist in monthly financial reporting and project documentation.
• Communicate with Architect, Engineer and Owner to assist the Project Manager.
• Coordinate field activities of self-performed and subcontracted work.
