Job summary

Evergy is seeking a Renewables and Build Transfer Projects Engineer to support the development and execution of solar, battery storage and other generation projects. You will work with internal and external teams to ensure projects meet technical requirements and regulatory standards.

The role involves hands-on design, project controls, and collaboration across project management, procurement, and engineering groups. Travel to active sites will be required as projects advance.

Qualifications

• ABET-accredited bachelor’s degree in engineering.
• EIT or PE license preferred.
• Experience on utility-scale renewable or conventional energy projects preferred.

Responsibilities

• Design portions of renewable and conventional development projects.
• Serve as technical liaison between Owners, EPC, Developer and stakeholders.
• Develop, track and implement project scope, schedule and budget.
• Write and review RFPs for engineering, equipment and construction scopes.
• Support safety culture and maintain relationships with external teams.
• Assist procurement and contract management for major equipment.
