Job summary

Evergy is seeking a Renewables and Build Transfer Projects Engineer to support the development and execution of Solar, Battery Storage, and other generation projects. You will work with a team of Development Project Managers to ensure safe, timely, and cost-effective delivery that meets Evergy’s technical requirements.

The role involves coordinating with internal and external stakeholders, developing project scope, schedule, and budgets, and advancing technology opportunities.

Qualifications

• ABET-accredited bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Electrical, Civil, Chemical, or Industrial Engineering (ABET).
• Engineer In Training certificate or Professional Engineering license preferred.
• Experience with utility-scale renewable or conventional energy projects is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Design portions of renewable and conventional generation development projects.
• Serve as the technical liaison among Owner’s Engineer, EPC Contractor, Developer, and internal stakeholders.
• Develop, track, and implement project scope, schedule, and budget; write and review RFPs for engineering, equipment, and construction scopes.
• Foster a culture of safety for yourself, contractors, and the company.
• Support procurement and contract management for major equipment and engineering services.
