Evergy is seeking a technically strong Early-Stage Development Engineer to support the early-stage development of generation projects, including coordinating preliminary designs, environmental diligence, and local permitting efforts.

This role reports to the Manager – Early-Stage Development and Renewables Engineering and collaborates with internal teams and external consultants on multi-year capital projects across conventional and renewable generation, such as combustion turbines, solar, and

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in engineering with power generation or utility-scale project development preferred.
• Ability to work effectively with internal and external stakeholders.
• Strong technical writing and scheduling skills with MS Project or Primavera.

Responsabilités

• Support early-stage generation project identification and advancement in Evergy’s service territory.
• Conduct technical feasibility evaluations for prospective sites.
• Assist interconnection activities with internal teams and external stakeholders.
• Develop environmental and permitting strategies with consultants.
• Engage with landowners and community stakeholders for permitting and outreach.
• Coordinate third-party consultants and manage scopes and budgets.
• Provide input to project cost estimates and economic evaluations.
