Job summary

Deriva Energy, an independent power producer in the US renewables sector, seeks an Associate Project Manager to plan and execute capital projects for its wind fleet and other initiatives. You will manage campaigns, coordinate with operations, engineering, procurement, and finance to deliver scope on time and within budget.

The role covers developing charters, managing schedules, budgets, and contractor interfaces while ensuring safety, compliance, and operational readiness across sites.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree and 5+ years of relevant project, construction, maintenance, or operations experience (for basic qualifications).
• Alternative: high school diploma or GED AND 10+ years of relevant experience.

Responsibilities

• Serve as the project manager and primary point of coordination for assigned capital projects and multi-site campaigns.
• Develop project charters and execution plans defining scope, schedule, budget, contracting strategy, outage requirements, quality expectations, risks, communications, and turnover criteria.
• Partner with wind operations, site leadership, engineering, procurement, finance, EHS, legal, and asset management to validate project need and develop executable scopes.
• Plan and coordinate major component replacements and campaign work involving turbines, BOP systems, cranes, labor, transportation, tooling, materials, and site access.
• Establish and maintain integrated project schedules considering engineering, material readiness, contractor mobilization, outage windows, construction, commissioning, and turnover.
• Manage approved project budgets, forecasts, cash flow, contingency, invoices, change orders, accruals, and variance reporting.
• Lead contractor and supplier interfaces during execution and resolve safety, quality, schedule, and commercial issues.
• Maintain risk registers; identify issues and elevate decisions with clear recommendations.
• Ensure adherence to safety, environmental, quality, security, and regulatory obligations.
• Provide updates, dashboards, and decision materials for operations and leadership.
• Coordinate project closeout including punch lists, turnover docs, warranty info, and lessons learned.

Education

Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Construction Management, Business Administration, or a related field
