Job summary

Xcel Energy is seeking a motivated intern for the Renewable Operation Center in Golden, CO. You will gain hands-on exposure to real-time operations, data-driven decision making, and dashboards that highlight performance trends across a utility-scale renewable fleet.

This paid internship offers collaboration with ROC Operators and Analytics, daily analytical tasks, and opportunities to learn Python, SQL, PowerBI, and SCADA systems while contributing to ongoing optimization and growth of the

Qualifications

• Current student (Junior or higher) enrolled in a relevant program.
• Pursuing degree in CS/Data Science/Engineering or related fields.
• Able to work full-time during the summer (up to 40 hours/week) or part-time during the school year (up to 20 hours/week).
• Hybrid in-person work requirement at designated location in Golden, CO.

Responsibilities

• Assist with development of a daily operational morning report for ROC teams.
• Perform quantitative and trend-based analysis to enable proactive work management.
• Contribute to design and enhancement of visual dashboards used by ROC to identify trends and risks.
• Support database development and maintenance to enable scalable analytics and collaboration between operations and engineering teams.
• Collaborate with ROC Operators and ROC Analysts to drive performance improvements across the renewable fleet.
