Qualifications

• Currently enrolled in a JD program with a strong academic/professional record.
• Excellent written and verbal communication, strong analytical skills, sound judgment, and attention to detail.
• Ability to collaborate in small cross-functional teams, manage multiple priorities, and approach unfamiliar legal questions thoughtfully.
• Interest in transactional law, renewable energy, project finance, infrastructure, corporate law, or related areas.
• Past experience in renewable energy is helpful but not required; interest in learning about the industry is strongly preferred.
• JD interns will be paid $10,000 per month with a $5,000 housing stipend.

Responsibilities

• Support DESRI’s Legal team on development, acquisition, financing, construction, and operation of renewable energy assets.
• Conduct legal research; reviewing, analyzing, and helping prepare transaction and project documentation; supporting due diligence.
• Assist with legal issues arising from DESRI’s portfolio in development, under construction, and in operation.
• Gain exposure to project development, acquisitions/dispositions, debt and tax equity financings, power purchase and other offtake arrangements, and related matters.
• Collaborate with colleagues across Legal and other DESRI teams to develop practical commercial solutions to legal questions.
