Job summary

Synectics Inc. is seeking a mid-level project development associate with strong law firm experience to advance renewable energy contracts (EPCs, O&Ms, PPAs) and drive project development.

This fully remote role supports collaboration with clients and CEC colleagues across jurisdictions. The ideal candidate has 7–10 years of law firm experience, excellent academics, and a proven ability to manage complex matters while mentoring junior attorneys.

Qualifications

• 7–10 years of law firm experience in renewable energy or related industries.
• Experience negotiating EPCs, O&Ms, PPAs, and similar contracts.
• Strong drafting, negotiation, organizational, and analytical skills.
• Mentor junior attorneys and collaborate in a remote, distributed team.
• Excellent written and verbal communication; ability to handle multiple complex matters under deadlines.

About The Job

We are a mission-driven law firm dedicated to accelerating the world's transition away from fossil fuels, seeks to hire a highly qualified mid-level project development associate with law firm experience and excellent academic credentials to join our firm. We are looking for an attorney who has expertise in both drafting and negotiating an array of renewable energy contracts such as EPCs, O&Ms, PPAs, etc.

This position is fully remote - as a distributed law firm, we offer the opportunity to work remotely from wherever you are licensed to practice law.

Experience And Qualifications

• Ideally 7-10 years' experience at a law firm, ideally in a practice serving clients in the renewable energy and related industries.
• Experience negotiating a variety of traditional renewable energy contracts (EPCs, O&Ms, PPAs, etc.).
• Strong deal management, organization, drafting, communication, negotiation, and analytical skills.
• Team-focused outlook with a focus on mentoring junior attorneys.
• Proficiency in legal research and drafting.
• Ability to work independently and with a team.
• Ability to work and collaborate effectively in a remote work environment.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills and organizational and planning skills with the capacity to simultaneously handle a variety of complex matters under strict deadlines and pressure.
• Admission to and in good standing with the Bar of the applicant's state of residence.

Duties And Responsibilities

• Support the team with project development in the renewable energy field.
• Collaborate with clients, CEC colleagues, and other professionals on project development matters.
• Adhere to Firm policies, practices, and priorities.
• Perform other duties as requested by Firm management.

Benefits

• 1,200 annual billable hour requirement, with hourly bonus for exceeding such requirement
• Base salary of $250,000 +. The base salary for this position will be determined during the interview process. It will vary based on multiple factors, including but not limited to prior experience, relevant expertise, current business needs, and market factors.
