Job summary

Leeward Renewable Energy seeks a Public Affairs Manager (P4) to oversee community engagement strategies for its East region projects in development, minimize risks, build support, and enhance project value. You’ll collaborate with Development, Legal, and Government Affairs to manage stakeholder outreach, public meetings, and communications.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Public Affairs, Political Science or Communications.
• 6–8 years in public affairs or stakeholder engagement, preferably in renewables.
• Experience representing an organization in public meetings/hearings and industry forums.
• Strong relationship-building with diverse stakeholders and policy awareness.

Responsibilities

• Provide strategic public affairs leadership across LRE’s East Region development portfolio.
• Shape advocacy strategies and community engagement tools and best practices.
• Lead coalition-building, grassroots campaigns, and land use advocacy.
• Represent Leeward Renewable Energy in public meetings, hearings, and industry groups.
• Manage communications, risk mitigation, and engagement strategy with leadership.
• Serve as primary contact with elected officials, regulators, NGOs, and community leaders.
• Develop messaging, talking points, presentations, and community materials.
• Oversee external agencies to align with project goals and execution.
