Job summary
Liberty Mutual Insurance is seeking a Risk Engineer for the US Energy team to assess and underwrite Property risk across conventional power and renewable energy projects. You will conduct on-site and desktop assessments, translate complex exposures into actionable decisions, and partner with Underwriting and Claims to shape risk strategies.

Qualifications
- Bachelor of Science or Engineering degree in a technical discipline.
- Minimum five years’ experience in relevant process industries.
- Strong communication and ability to clearly explain technical exposures.
Responsibilities
- Conduct on-site risk engineering surveys and desktop reviews.
- Evaluate operations and construction projects, including large and complex exposures.
- Translate technical findings into actionable risk assessments for underwriting.
- Serve as a trusted technical resource for US Underwriters, Claims teams, and insureds.
- Analyze risk quality, pinpoint loss drivers, and recommend mitigation strategies.
- Support claims analysis and identify risk improvement opportunities across the portfolio.
- Plan, organize, and perform risk appraisals for assigned lines of business.
- Travel regularly as part of the role.
