Job summary

OpenKrill is seeking a dependable Accounts Officer to own day-to-day bookkeeping for a small Australian business. This fully remote role, from the Philippines, focuses on accurate Xero records, and managing AP/AR with regular reporting to the CFO.

You will also support payroll processes, handle contracts and compliance, and drive improvements in finance and operations, working closely with a manager who trusts you to keep things moving on your own initiative.

Qualifications

• Proficiency with Xero accounting software
• Solid understanding of accounts payable and receivable
• Ability to work independently in a small business
• Willingness to align with Philippine time zones

Responsibilities

• Book and reconcile contractor, payroller and vendor invoices in Xero
• Manage accounts payable and accounts receivable and monitor aging
• Prepare month-end, quarter-end files and KPI packs for CFO
• Follow up missing timesheets and approvals to close open items
• Assist payroll provider with pay runs and payroll tax lodgements
• Handle contracts, licenses, and insurance renewals, plus document control
• Onboard and support team with checklists, leave tracking, and light IT/office support
• Document and map finance/ops processes to reduce single points of failure
