EdReports.org seeks a Writing Editor to provide approximately 25 hours of substantive editorial support for the Multilingual Learner Early Math tools and supporting resources. The role aims to strengthen clarity, organization, and accessibility while preserving technical meaning and evidence standards.

The contractor will prioritize high-impact edits within the 25-hour window and document editorial decisions.

Qualifications

Demonstrated experience editing complex educational, technical, or research-based content.
Experience with substantive/developmental editing and copyediting.
Strong command of English grammar, syntax, punctuation, and editorial conventions.
Ability to preserve meaning while improving clarity, precision, and organization.
Experience creating/maintaining editorial style sheets or terminology guides.
Ability to identify ambiguity and require subject-matter expert review when needed.

Responsibilities

Edit for clarity, transitions, and relationships among concepts, evidence, and guidance.
