Job summary

Magma Math in NYC is seeking a talented writer with real K–12 education experience to craft blogs, one-pagers, campaign copy and related materials for districts and educators.

You will publish two to three finished pieces per week with editorial support, building evidence-based explanations of math concepts, interventions, and classroom practices that help teachers and leaders improve student learning.

Qualifications

• Real K–12 experience in teaching, coaching, curriculum or edtech roles.
• Strong writing portfolio across blogs, newsletters, PD materials, or similar.
• Ability to deliver 2–3 finished pieces per week with an editor.
• Experience briefing diverse audiences from math coordinators to superintendents.
• Fluency with concepts like productive struggle, discourse, number sense.

Responsibilities

• Write blog posts, articles, one-pagers, campaign copy and assets.
• Collaborate with editors to shape messaging for districts and educators.
• Produce 2–3 pieces weekly, maintaining quality and deadlines.
• Adapt tone for different audiences (coordinator, superintendent, board).
• Contribute to webinars, podcasts, and longer research reports over time.
