Job summary

Heartland Security Insurance Group is seeking a CAS Workers' Compensation Claims Representative to manage a caseload of medical and lost time WC claims from first report to resolution. The role requires evaluating liability, reserving, and settlements while coordinating with claimants, policyholders, and medical providers.

The ideal candidate holds a valid WC Adjuster license, has 2–3 years of indemnity claims experience, and is proficient with MS Word/Excel/Outlook.

Qualifications

Must hold a valid Workers’ Compensation Adjuster license.
2–3 years of experience handling indemnity workers’ compensation claims.
High school diploma or equivalent required.
Basic computer skills with MS Word, Excel and Outlook.

Responsibilities

Manage assigned caseload of medical only and lost time workers’ compensation claims.
Make decisions about compensability, set reserves and negotiate settlements.
Interact with claimants, clients, medical providers and other third party representatives.
Timely initial contacts and investigation of new claims.
Verify coverage and take recorded statements as needed.
Document files daily on every conversation and action taken.
Identify and address subrogation issues.
Start and stop indemnity benefits timely and accurately.
Prepare and handle hearings as required.
