Job summary

Dover is seeking an Advanced Manufacturing Engineer specializing in Welding & Fabrication. The role focuses on optimizing welding/fabrication processes, equipment qualification, and rollout of new capex for mass production.

You will lead cross‑functional work with Ops, supplier teams, and internal engineering to maximize productivity. Ideal candidate has 5+ years in welding/fabrication manufacturing, strong CAD (SolidWorks) and metrology skills, and willingness to travel up to 75%.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in mechanical, electrical, or industrial engineering.
• Minimum 5 years’ experience in manufacturing engineering with Welding/Fabrication.
• Experience setting up and operating state‑of‑the‑art Welding/Fabrication equipment.
• Extensive experience with TIG, MIG, Laser Welding, Laser Cutting, and related equipment.
• Well versed in standard machine shop processes and setups.
• Willing and able to travel 75% from a major US airport.
• SolidWorks or CAD experience; CAD skills required.
• Metrology expertise with CMMs and 3D imaging.
• Lean manufacturing knowledge and problem‑solving skills.

Responsibilities

• Analyze and design welding/fabrication processes to improve efficiency.
• Lead equipment specification, sourcing, and qualification for mass production.
• Develop and deploy Welding/Fabrication Playbook with OpCos.
• Support TPM/SMED initiatives to improve OEE.
• Drive capital equipment projects and manage toolings with suppliers.
• Perform root cause analyses and implement corrective actions.
• Ensure PFMEA/DFMEA/PPAP compliance and SOPs.
• Travel up to 75% to manufacturing sites.
