Job summary

Ruff Start Rescue invites applications for an On-Call Foster Support Coordinator. This remote, weekend/holiday-focused role handles urgent non-medical foster concerns, coordinates emergency moves, and reviews placements while maintaining safety and animal welfare priorities.

Strong communication and independent decision-making are essential. Responsibilities include documenting incidents, coordinating with the Medical On-Call team, and escalating significant safety concerns.

Qualifications

• Experience in animal welfare or crisis-response settings preferred.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to work independently with calm under pressure.
• Comfort with documenting events and handoffs accurately.

Responsibilities

• Respond to urgent non-medical foster concerns during weekends/holidays.
• Coordinate emergency foster moves when needed.
• Review and approve weekend/temporary foster placements.
• Coordinate with Medical On-Call team for illnesses or injuries.
• Document and handoff incidents to staff teams.
• Escalate safety or liability concerns to leadership.
