Under the Program Manager’s direction, the Crisis Clinician will work alongside first responders to provide on-site crisis intervention, de-escalation, and stabilization services for adults and children experiencing or who are at risk for experiencing a behavioral health crisis. These intensive supportive services are time-limited, designed to prevent additional behavioral health crises and mitigate adverse health outcomes. The Crisis Clinician will collaborate with local law enforcement, social service agencies, and various NYAP departments to offer solutions that utilize the Whole Person Approach to wellness. Clinicians are expected to work on-scene, conduct mental health assessments, engage in de-escalation, make appropriate referrals, and conduct follow-up services as needed.
