Job summary

Futuristic Underwriters is seeking a results-driven Workers’ Compensation Production Underwriter to help launch and scale our WC platform. This role emphasizes agency outreach, relationship development, and driving submission volume and premium production.

The successful candidate will evaluate, quote, negotiate, and bind mid-market and program WC accounts, analyze payroll, class codes, experience mods, loss history, and other risk factors while maintaining disciplined underwriting judgment.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of Workers’ Compensation underwriting experience (MGA, program administrator, or carrier environment preferred).
• Proven track record of building agent relationships and growing premium.
• Strong knowledge of WC class codes, experience mods, loss runs, and multi-state regulatory environments.
• Demonstrated analytical, negotiation, and decision-making skills.
• Entrepreneurial mindset with ability to thrive in a fast-paced, growth-stage environment.
• Experience with program business or specialty WC products.
• Familiarity with MGA underwriting systems.

Responsibilities

• The Production Underwriter will build and expand agent relationships through sales calls, agency outreach, prospecting, and consistent follow-up to generate new Workers’ Compensation submissions.
• The role will evaluate, quote, negotiate, and bind mid-market and program accounts, analyzing payroll, class codes, experience modifications, loss history, and other key risk characteristics while maintaining disciplined underwriting judgment.
• The underwriter will partner with carrier markets to negotiate pricing, terms, and coverage, maintain strong communication throughout the underwriting process, and deliver a high level of service to agency partners.
• The role will also monitor production and portfolio performance and contribute to the development of underwriting guidelines, processes, and workflows as the WC platform grows.
