Job summary

Texas A&M Engineering Extension Service is seeking a Wage Agency Instructor for Region 2 Fire Extension to deliver and coordinate classes, conferences and field delivery courses. The role supports training programs and hand-offs to the National Fire Academy, with telecommuter arrangements in Texas.

The position requires an associate degree or equivalent, five years in Emergency Services, and a teaching/training background, plus certification as an instructor from approved Texas agencies.

Qualifications

• Associate degree from an accredited college or university or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Five years’ experience in Emergency Services (I.E., Fire/Rescue/Haz-Mat, EMS, Emergency Management, or Law Enforcement).
• One year of experience in adult education and/or training.
• Must have a valid motor vehicle operator’s license or ability to obtain within 30 days of employment.
• Certified Instructor through one of the following: Texas Commission on Fire Protection (TCFP), State Firefighters’ and Fire Marshals’ Association (SFFMA), Texas Commission on Law Enforcement (TCOLE), Texas Department of State Health Services (DSHS), Texas Division of Emergency Management (TDEM), or an equivalent certifying organization.

Responsibilities
