Ladders is seeking a VP of Engineering to guide strategy and execution for a growing technology organization. You will lead engineering managers, shape the product roadmap with cross-functional partners, and drive scalable growth through architecture planning and AI-enabled development practices.

Remote role for US-based candidates, with compensation in the range of $230,000 to $285,000 annually. The position emphasizes accountability, delivery speed, and vendor management across SaaS platforms.

Qualifications

• 12+ years of software engineering experience with 5+ years in leadership roles.
• Proven track record building high-performing teams and delivering complex products.
• Strong architectural judgment in SaaS applications, APIs and cloud infrastructure.
• Experience improving developer productivity through automation and standardization.
• Practical knowledge of AI-assisted development and balancing multiple project demands.
• Ownership of budgets and vendor relationships in a technical context.
• Excellent communication skills for explaining technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.

Responsibilities

• Lead and mentor engineering managers and teams across multiple technical domains.
• Build a culture of accountability and technical excellence across the engineering organization.
• Oversee engineering capacity planning and budget management.
• Partner with cross-functional teams to shape the product roadmap and prioritize investments.
• Maintain an actionable architecture roadmap to support product growth and efficiency.
• Define metrics to measure delivery speed and quality, and drive frequent deployments.
• Set and execute the AI strategy for engineering, including tool evaluation and automation opportunities.
