Dutch Vet is transforming veterinary care by making expert treatment accessible anytime, anywhere. We are seeking a VP of Legal to lead the legal function as we scale a premier consumer healthcare platform for pets.

This role blends legal judgment with business pragmatism and requires navigating evolving veterinary regulation, privacy, and commercial agreements across multiple states.

Qualifikationen

• JD from an accredited law school and active U.S. state bar.
• Experience advising a regulated consumer/healthcare business.
• Strong regulatory judgment with practical state-by-state interpretation.
• Excellent commercial contract drafting and negotiation skills.
• Ability to operate in a fast-moving startup with rigor and practicality.

Aufgaben

• Own and lead Dutch’s legal function across corporate, regulatory, commercial, product, privacy, employment, litigation, and compliance.
• Advise CEO, exec team, and board on key business, regulatory, and risk decisions.
• Partner with clinical, pharmacy, product, operations, marketing, and finance teams for compliant execution.
• Lead legal strategy around veterinary telemedicine, pharmacy operations, and state requirements.
• Support regulatory advocacy to expand access to virtual veterinary care across the United States.
• Build legal frameworks to launch products, enter new states, and deepen the pet health platform.
• Draft, review, and negotiate vendor contracts, partnerships, marketing, data/privacy, and other agreements.
• Advise on product and marketing initiatives, including disclosures and compliance.
• Oversee governance, financing support, equity matters, and investor-related work.
• Manage employment matters with People team; ensure policies and compliance.
• Develop scalable internal processes, templates, and playbooks for faster, safer decisions.
• Manage outside counsel across regulatory, corporate, employment, and privacy areas.
• Identify regulatory risk and move quickly without slowing business.
