National Veterinary Associates (NVA) is seeking a Director of Legal Operations to lead the Legal, Compliance & Government Relations team across multiple sites, driving operational efficiency, developing metrics and KPIs, and implementing a scalable legal technology roadmap.

The role serves as a strategic partner to leadership, overseeing budgets and vendors, optimizing outside counsel usage, and advancing processes such as CLM, e-billing, and workflow automation, with travel less than 20% and

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree required; advanced degree preferred.
• 6+ years of relevant experience in legal operations.
• Experience with legal technology and process improvement essential.
• Strong project management and analytical skills.
• Strategic thinking and execution; cross-functional collaboration.

Responsibilities

• Lead the design, implementation, and continuous improvement of legal operations processes and infrastructure.
• Develop and execute a legal operations strategy aligned with business and legal priorities.
• Establish and track KPIs and metrics to measure legal function effectiveness.
• Support strategic initiatives, including corporate maturity and IPO-readiness efforts.
• Develop and implement a multi-year legal technology roadmap.
• Evaluate and manage legal technology solutions (CLM, e-billing, matter management).
• Drive adoption of workflow automation, AI-enabled tools, and analytics capabilities.
• Partner with IT for system integration and scalability.
• Streamline legal workflows and reduce manual processes.
• Implement standardized templates and playbooks.
• Optimize outside counsel usage and spend management.
• Manage legal budget planning, forecasting, and tracking.
• Oversee outside counsel relationships and performance.
