Job summary

Welo Data is seeking a freelance Voice Director to coach talent for scripted and conversational audio recordings, guiding performers toward natural, unscripted delivery and regionally authentic phrasing. You’ll craft scene context, improvise to fill gaps, provide clear, actionable direction, and ensure mic technique and room noise are properly managed; native fluency in the needed language is required.

This remote, project-based role pays $67 per hour.

Qualifications

• Native fluency in the required language with a strong ear for natural phrasing.
• Experience directing, coaching, or producing voice/audio talent.
• Ability to give clear, specific, actionable performance direction.
• Knowledge of mic technique, room acoustics, and recording basics.

Responsibilities

• Direct voice performers through scripted scenarios and coaching for natural delivery.
• Create scene context and improvise to fill narrative gaps while sessions flow.
• Adapt scripted wording for natural phrasing and regional authenticity.
• Monitor and correct technical audio quality in real time (mic technique, pacing, room noise, levels).
• Manage session pacing to meet recording targets without sacrificing quality.
• Create a supportive environment for performers with varying experience levels.
