Job summary

Crossing Hurdles is seeking a remote Voice Actor/Coach to analyze short speech recordings and deliver precise written assessments using professional voice terminology. The role pays $30-$70 per hour and requires 10-40 hours per week.

You will identify age, gender, accent/dialect, vocal quality, resonance, phonation, pitch, intonation, breath support, rhythm and tempo, and evaluate emotional tone and delivery. You will comment on room sound and recording quality to support AI training.

Qualifications

• Professional background in voice acting, voice coaching, dialect coaching, vocal pedagogy, or similar fields.
• Strong understanding of speech analysis, prosody, intonation, phonetics, accent and dialect variation, and vocal quality assessment.
• Experience with audio or sound engineering, especially in evaluating recording quality and acoustic environments.
• Familiarity with technical vocal concepts such as resonance, placement, and breath control.
• Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, with meticulous attention to detail.
• Fluency in English (B2 or higher); native proficiency in any language is welcome.

Responsibilities

• Analyze short speech recordings and produce precise, structured written assessments using professional voice terminology.
• Identify and describe vocal characteristics such as age, gender, accent or dialect, vocal quality, resonance, phonation type, pitch, intonation, breath support, rhythm, and tempo.
• Evaluate emotional tone, energy, articulation clarity, and overall delivery style, noting nuances between scripted, spontaneous, or conversational samples.
• Assess audio production aspects, including room sound, device type, and recording environment quality.
• Deliver observations in clear, detailed written reports, using consistent technical language to facilitate AI model training and evaluation.
• Collaborate asynchronously via digital platforms, providing objective, high-quality input to enhance voice and speech systems.
