Job summary

GovCIO is seeking a VistA Transition Subject Matter Expert to lead the analysis, planning, and execution of legacy VistA applications during VA Health EHRM deployments. This senior role collaborates with Project Managers, Data Analysts, and government stakeholders to ensure site readiness, cutover execution, and post-deployment validation.

The ideal candidate brings 15+ years of experience in enterprise health IT, strong VistA expertise, and the ability to work remotely across dispersed teams

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree required in a technical discipline.
• 15+ years of work experience; 10 years may substitute for degree.
• U.S. Citizenship required and ability to obtain Public Trust clearance.
• Strong written and verbal communication with cross-team collaboration.
• Experience with VistA menus, security keys, and user access management.

Responsibilities

• Analyze VistA applications, menus, HL7 interfaces, and security keys to assess transition impacts.
• Present technical findings to leadership and stakeholders.
• Conduct VistA usage analysis using reports and dashboards to inform decisions.
• Develop implementation playbooks and transition recommendations.
• Support site readiness, cutover, deployment, and post-implementation validation.
• Present findings to project leadership and implementation teams.
• Ensure quality and completeness of deliverables and documentation.
• Recommend improvements based on usage and feedback.
• Contribute to continuous improvement of VistA transition processes.
