Job summary

Interstates is seeking a Virtual Designer to lead project implementation of Virtual Design Construction technology. You will act as the liaison between field, business units and corporate offices, coordinating design efforts and ensuring compliance with standards.

Ideal candidates have 4–10 years of experience in virtual design and construction, strong BIM knowledge, and excellent communication and collaboration skills. Remote work potential may apply.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or AA/AS in Engineering Tech, Architecture or related field.
• 4–10 years in virtual design/construction or technical modeling.
• Experience in electrical industry and BIM standards preferred.
• Strong collaboration across cross-functional teams.

Responsibilities

• Complete conceptual design packages with project leaders following standards.
• Analyze past projects to inform electrical and automation practices.
• Collaborate with project leaders to resolve issues and present solutions.
• Coordinate with clients, contractors and teams in meetings (onsite or virtual).
• Mentor team members through delegation and feedback.
• Set project direction by documenting scope and schedules.
• Assess risks and opportunities to implement design strategies using VDC software.
• Gather project information and communicate updates to team members.
