Job summary

Interstates is seeking a Virtual Designer to lead project implementation of Virtual Design Construction technology. You will serve as the liaison between field teams, business units, and corporate office, guiding design efforts and collaboration across disciplines.

The role emphasizes strong communication, coordination, and the ability to drive design strategies using VDC tools. A remote work potential is available, with travel up to 35% as needed.

Qualifications

• Education: high school diploma or AA/AS in Engineering Tech, Architecture, Construction Management or related field; bachelor's preferred.
• Experience: 4–10 years in virtual design/construction or similar, preferably in electrical industry.
• Familiarity with BIM standards and coordination is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Complete the conceptual design package with project leaders following standards.
• Recommend electrical and automation practices by analyzing past projects and codes.
• Resolve issues by collaborating with project leaders and presenting solutions.
• Collaborate with clients, contractors, and teams via onsite or virtual meetings to review scope and schedules.
• Mentor team members through delegation, reviewing deliverables, and feedback.
• Set project direction by documenting scope and deliverables schedule.
• Assess risks and implement design strategies using VDC software.
• Gather project information and communicate updates to all stakeholders.
