Job summary

Interstates is seeking a Virtual Designer to lead project implementation of Virtual Design Construction technology and coordinate with field teams, business units, and the corporate office. Strong communication and collaboration skills are essential, with the role potentially remote.

Ideal candidates have 4–10 years in virtual design/construction, a solid grasp of BIM standards, and experience with cross-functional coordination to support complex design processes, including electrical industry

Qualifications

• 4–10 years of experience in virtual design and construction or similar
• Strong understanding of BIM standards and advanced project coordination
• Experience collaborating with cross-functional teams to support complex design processes
• Familiarity with construction documentation and electrical industry is preferred

Responsibilities

• Complete conceptual design package using design software in coordination with project leaders
• Recommend electrical and automation practices by analyzing past projects and codes
• Resolve issues by collaborating with project leaders and presenting solutions
• Collaborate with clients, contractors, and project teams through onsite or virtual meetings to review scope/schedules
• Mentor team members through delegation, reviewing deliverables, and feedback
• Set project direction by documenting scope and establishing deliverable schedule
• Assess project risks and opportunities to implement design strategies using VDC software
• Gather project information and communicate updates to all involved teams
