Job summary

UMass Memorial Health is seeking a Patient Care Technician for a per diem/mixed shift position in Worcester, MA. The role supports nursing staff with patient care tasks, observations, and daily living activities in a fast-paced hospital setting.

The position is non-exempt with a base pay range of $15.00–$26.53 per hour for a 40-hour work week; final offers prorated for part-time schedules. A signing bonus may be available during the interview process.

Responsibilities

• Provides clear, timely communication to the RN regarding observations and changes seen in patients.
• Maintains constant observation of high-risk patients as assigned.
• Assists in creating a safe environment and de-escalating patients when possible.
• Aids patients with daily living activities such as hygiene, mobility, meals.
• Assists in moving, lifting, positioning and transporting patients with proper safety.
• Performs vital signs and basic measurements, collects samples as needed.
