Job summary

UMass Memorial Health in Worcester, MA is seeking a non-exempt, full-time caregiver role with a 40-hour week and a mixed shift schedule. The position involves direct patient care, observation of high-risk patients, and collaboration with the RN to ensure safety and quality of care.

Responsibilities include assisting with daily living activities, vital signs, and basic treatments, while following hospital policies and the Standards of Respect. A signing bonus may be available per interview.

Qualifications

• Ability to read, write and communicate in English in a clear and concise manner.
• Basic computer skills.
• Basic Medical Terminology knowledge.
• Must be able to remain calm when under stress or in emergency situations.

Responsibilities

• Provides clear, timely communication to the RN regarding observations and changes seen in patients.
• Provides constant observation of high-risk patients as assigned by the Resource Nurse or designee.
• Participates in the development and maintenance of a safe environment; uses de-escalation techniques and follows training for restraints when needed.
• Assists patient with daily living activities such as personal hygiene, ambulating, meals and nourishment.
• Assists in moving, lifting, positioning, and transporting patients using proper safety techniques.
