Job summary

Blue River PetCare, headquartered in Chicago, seeks a Business Development Specialist to identify and qualify veterinary hospital targets for acquisition across the Midwest and nationwide. This role is remote unless located within 40 miles of Chicago, with significant travel and a focus on outbound communications.

You will build relationships with practice owners, manage lead activity in Salesforce, and participate in the acquisition process from initial contact to close.

Qualifications

• 5+ years veterinary industry experience required.
• Preferred veterinary clinic or industry sales experience.
• Disciplined and able to initiate outbound calls and emails.
• Willing to travel 75% by auto/air/train as needed.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain relationships with practice owners in assigned region.
• Identify, qualify, and build acquisition targets for Blue River PetCare.
• Update Salesforce with notes and lead activity logs.
• Assist in business evaluation and deal process for target hospitals.
