Job summary

Loyal Source Government Services is hiring an Examiner to conduct VA Compensation & Pension examinations for disability claims. You will review claims, perform focused assessments, review records, and may render medical opinions based on records.

Some charting from home may be required, with occasional travel to other clinics. Essentials include active NP license, ability to work independently, strong interpersonal skills, and proficiency with electronic medical records.

Qualifications

• Graduate of nursing; valid NP license and not barred from practicing in any US state.
• At least 1 year of experience as a Nurse Practitioner.
• BLS certification required, including renewals.
• Previous military experience or familiarity with veteran communities preferred.
• Specialized training in Medical Disability Evaluations or related areas is advantageous.

Responsibilities

• Conduct Comprehensive Medical Disability Examinations: thorough medical evaluations of Veterans, including medical history review and physical exams.
• Review and analyze medical records and diagnostic tests to understand health history.
• Render objective medical opinions regarding the extent of disabilities and work impact.
• Maintain HIPAA-compliant documentation and submit findings per VA guidelines.
• Coordinate with QA team and other healthcare professionals as needed.
