Job summary

City FM is seeking a vendor management professional for a 6+ month fixed-term assignment, primarily remote with occasional visits to Quincy, MA headquarters. Candidate must reside in New England and collaborate across Procurement, Finance, Operations, and other units to optimize vendor performance and compliance.

The role emphasizes building strong vendor partnerships, monitoring performance against contracts, and supporting renewals and transitions while contributing to program improvements.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree preferred.
• Strong understanding of business operations, procurement or vendor management best practices.
• Experience managing budgets, schedules, and vendor relationships.
• Proficiency in Microsoft 365 Suite.
• Experience with Service Channel, VMDM or Coupa is a plus.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Strong leadership and cross-functional coordination skills.
• Excellent written and verbal communication abilities.
• High attention to detail with analytical and problem-solving skills.

Responsibilities

• Develop, implement, and maintain vendor management policies, procedures, and standards.
• Support indirect sourcing teams in evaluating vendor capabilities, service levels, and commercial terms.
• Monitor day-to-day vendor performance against contractual obligations, KPIs, and SLAs.
• Lead vendor evaluations, scorecards, and assessment activities for quality, cost-effectiveness, and timely delivery.
• Build and maintain strong vendor partnerships, serving as a primary point of contact.
• Identify and elevate operational issues, risks, or performance concerns.
• Coordinate cross-functionally with Procurement, Finance, Operations, and other units to streamline vendor engagement.
• Maintain up-to-date records of vendor agreements, certifications, and compliance.
• Advise Indirect Sourcing to ensure preventive maintenance programs and SLAs in contracts.
• Support smooth vendor transitions, renewals, and offboarding processes.
• Contribute to continuous improvement within the vendor management program.
• Perform additional duties as required to meet business needs and uphold company values.
