Job summary

General Motors is seeking a Software Engineer focused on vehicle software and automated testing. You will create software for basic and vehicle-level functions, build and maintain test frameworks, and work with CI/CD and test automation while coordinating with lead engineers. Requirements include a bachelor's degree in a related field and 2 years of hands-on experience with Python/Java/C++, test frameworks, and vehicle-network protocols (CAN/LIN/Ethernet).

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Engineering, Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Software Engineering, or closely related field.
• Two (2) years of experience as a Software Engineer, Automation Engineer, or related occupation.
• Two (2) years of experience with Python, Java, or C++, including object-oriented analysis, design, implementation, and debugging.
• Two (2) years of experience with test automation frameworks and libraries (JUnit/TestNG for Java, pytest for Python).
• Six (6) months of experience with CAN, LIN, or Ethernet for vehicle networks or test systems.

Responsibilities

• Create software for basic and vehicle-level functions and perform integration and verification testing.
• Design, implement, and maintain automated test frameworks and test harnesses for unit, integration, regression, and system testing.
• Diagnose, debug, and resolve issues related to vehicle hardware and software, including test benches and in-vehicle systems.
