Job summary

Copart is seeking a Vehicle Image Damage Assessor to evaluate damaged vehicles from images and information, and to prepare engineer's reports for insurance companies. You will determine damage extent, repair implications and salvage considerations with strong attention to detail.

You’ll work from home with occasional travel to Copart Head Office in Wootton, Bedfordshire or to an Operation Centre when required.

Qualifications

• Proven body shop estimating experience.
• Strong knowledge of motor vehicles and damage types.
• Experience using computerized repair estimating systems.
• Familiarity with valuation tools such as Glass's, CAP, Audatex and HPI.
• Understanding of insurance claims procedures and Road Traffic Act basics.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• High attention to detail.

Responsibilities

• Assess vehicle damage using images, documentation and available information.
• Prepare accurate and detailed engineer's reports for insurance companies.
• Interpret damage extent and repair method implications.
• Research vehicle values considering mileage and condition.
• Assign salvage categories in line with industry guidelines.
• Use estimating and valuation systems to support assessments.
• Review and amend vehicle information and reports as needed.
• Maintain high accuracy and quality within SLAs.
• Stay updated on vehicle damage, repair methods and valuations.
