Job summary

California Foot & Ankle Centers (CALFAC) and the Vascular Institutes in Sacramento, CA, seek an experienced medical coder and biller with vascular coding experience to support doctors and scribes with accurate coding and charting guidance for CPT, HCPCS and ICD-10. Must have 2+ years of surgical coding and strong anatomy knowledge.

You will work with EPIC and eCW, ensure correct code sequencing, answer coding inquiries, and help maintain smooth billing processes while upholding privacy and

Qualifications

• Minimum 3-5 years of medical coding experience.
• Minimum 2 years of surgical coding experience.
• CPC certification is a big plus, but not required.
• Knowledge of CPT, HCPCS, ICD-10 and coding guidelines.
• Strong understanding of human anatomy and medical terminology.
• Proficient with EPIC or eCW EHR systems.

Responsibilities

• Research proper coding options for vascular procedures.
• Prepare summaries and assign the appropriate codes or code sets.
• Assist in preparing medical records for doctors and schedulers.
• Capture and transcribe medical record documentation during patient visits.
• Assign diagnosis and procedure codes for visits and procedures.
• Respond to inquiries regarding coding, documentation, denials and billing.
