Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent; certification verification required.
• 2+ years of coding experience post-certification; no apprentice statuses.
• Certified Professional Coder (CPC) credential.
• Proficiency in EMR systems, particularly EPIC.
• Strong coding knowledge of ICD-10-CM, ICD-10-PCS, and CPT guidelines.
• Full-time availability and ability to meet productivity standards.

Responsibilities

• Code complex cardio/vascular procedures and diagnoses with precision, maintaining a 95%+ accuracy rate.
• Review clinical documentation and diagnostic results to ensure complete and accurate coding.
• Abstract data into EMR systems, verifying patient dispositions and physician information.
• Collaborate with HIM and Clinical Documentation Specialists to optimize documentation quality and billing accuracy.
• Work in a hybrid setting, balancing remote work with necessary on-site collaboration as needed.

What You’ll Do:

• Code complex cardio/vascular procedures and diagnoses with precision, maintaining a 95% or higher accuracy rate

Required Skills:

Preferred Education and Experience:

• High school diploma or equivalent (required)
• 3-5 years of coding experience after obtaining the coding certification

Other Requirements:

• Candidates must reside in Texas, Louisiana, Arkansas, Georgia, or New Mexico to be considered
• Must have access to two monitors and a laptop for remote work
• Full-time availability and reliable internet connection
• Must be available for a contract role to start, with the possibility to transition into a permanent role
