Job summary

Lexington Health, a comprehensive care network serving West Columbia and surrounding areas, seeks an experienced medical coder to assign ICD and CPT codes for reimbursement and statistics. You will abstract clinical data for accurate documentation and support coding audits while mentoring teammates.

Minimum 5 years of coding experience and active AAPC/AHIMA credentials are required. Strong knowledge of CPT/ICD, EHR systems, and regulatory payor rules is essential to succeed in this role.

Qualifications

• Must have 5+ years of professional coding experience across multiple clinical/surgical specialties.
• Experience with CPT and ICD coding guidelines and audits.
• Active AAPC or AHIMA certifications required.

Responsibilities

• Assigns ICD and CPT codes for facility or professional services.
• Abstracts clinical information from records for accurate documentation.
• Mentors peers and assists with coding audits and education.
• Keeps management informed of any coding or documentation issues.
