Job summary

Lexington Health in Columbia, SC seeks a full-time ICD/CPT coder to assign codes for inpatient and outpatient records. You will follow ICD, CPT, CMS guidelines and support accurate reimbursement and statistics.

Requires a 3+ year facility coding background, active certifications, and proficiency with MS Word/Excel/Outlook and EHR software. Competitive benefits and a $5,000 sign-on bonus are offered.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent is required.
• Minimum 3 years of facility coding experience with DRG and OP services.
• Active certifications such as RHIA/RHIT/CCS/CCS-P/CPC/CPC-H/COC/CIC are preferred.
• Experience with ED/OPS/IP coding and medical terminology courses.

Responsibilities

• Reviews and interprets facility inpatient and outpatient medical documentation to assign ICD and CPT codes.
• Abstracts information into computer systems for reimbursement and statistics.
• Keeps department manager up to date with coding or documentation issues.
• Works with physicians and staff to ensure proper code assignment and quality improvement.
