Aptive Resources is seeking Certified Pharmacy Technicians for the VA Meds by Mail program, supporting Cheyenne, WY operations with remote work from within 50 miles. This 12-month contract role involves prescription processing, call-center triage, and clerical tasks, with supervision by a VA pharmacist. 13 openings.

Required are PTCB/NHA certification, a high school diploma, English fluency, and VA systems familiarity. VA onboarding and HIPAA training are mandatory.

Qualifications

• Current, unrestricted pharmacy technician certification from PTCB (CPhT) or NHA (ExCPT).
• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Ability to read, understand, speak, and write English fluently.
• Computer proficiency for data entry, navigating pharmacy systems, and accurate documentation.
• Must reside within 50 miles of the VA Meds by Mail facility in Cheyenne, Wyoming.
• Preferred: Retail, mail-order, or central-fill pharmacy experience.
• Experience with VA systems (VistA/CPRS) or CHAMPVA/TRICARE prescriptions.

Responsibilities

• Enter prescription data accurately in VA pharmacy information systems.
• Review and process external (non-VA) prescriptions according to MbM standard operating procedures.
• Answer and triage call center inquiries from patients, caregivers, and provider offices.
• Communicate therapeutic change requests to provider offices.
• Educate patients and caregivers on proper medication use, within the scope of technician certification.
• Complete clerical and documentation tasks accurately to meet MbM workload and quality standards.
• Follow all HIPAA, Privacy Act, and VA information security requirements, and report any suspected privacy or security incident immediately.
• Work strictly within the scope of your technician certification and applicable law; make no independent clinical decisions.
