Responsibilities

• Process and submit new prescription requests and renewal requests, including controlled substances, using VA protocols.
• Answer calls from Veterans, physicians, and healthcare professionals regarding prescriptions and questions.
• Review prescription profiles and provide status updates on medications.
• Document patient and staff interactions in CPRS and VA systems.
• Verify patient identity prior to discussing protected health information.
• Maintain access to VA electronic health record systems and security requirements.
