Job summary

Posterity Group LLC is staffing The Richard L. Roudebush VA Medical Center with medical coders. Responsibilities include attaching and verifying images in the EHR, locating FINs, indexing records by section and visit location, and performing 100% QA.

Required are active coding credentials (RHIA/RHIT/CCS/CPC or equivalent) and 3+ years in VA or federal healthcare coding, plus experience with Cerner/Oracle. Proficiency in Word/Excel is expected.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of medical clinics and clinical documentation.
• Ability to locate FINs and link documents to veteran records in Cerner/Oracle.
• Indexing documents with correct section, note title, date of service and visit location.
• Verify that images are uploaded correctly and legible for viewing.
• Data entry with high attention to detail and accuracy.
• Knowledge of computers, especially Word and Excel.
• Prior experience with Cerner/Oracle or comparable EHR systems.
• Active coding credential required.
• Prior VA or federal healthcare coding experience preferred.
• At least 3 years of relevant experience.

Responsibilities

• Accurately attaching images to the correct EHR elements.
• Verifying images uploaded correctly and legible for viewing.
• Locating FINs and linking documents to veteran records.
• Indexing documents by section, note title, date of service, and visit location.
• Performing 100% internal QA before submission.
