Job summary

SMX is seeking a UX/UI Design Engineer to design and build intuitive experiences for SAP Analytics Cloud and related platforms. The role spans user research, prototyping, and front-end development, collaborating with SAC developers and federal budget experts.

The position supports a Washington, DC area customer, requires Federal clearance, and is remote from the US. A strong portfolio and 5+ years in enterprise UI/UX are essential.

Qualifications

• Ability to obtain Secret clearance (U.S. Citizenship)
• Bachelor's Degree in HCI/UX/CS or related field, or equivalent experience
• 5+ years designing and developing UI/UX for enterprise web apps
• Expert proficiency in Figma, prototyping and design systems (e.g. Photoshop, Sketch)
• Proficiency in JavaScript, HTML, and CSS for UI components
• Portfolio showing design work and delivered front-end code
• Strong written and verbal communication for cross-functional collaboration

Responsibilities

• Conduct user research with customers/SMEs and translate findings into UI requirements
• Create wireframes, mock-ups, and high-fidelity prototypes; maintain a reusable design system
• Build front-end components for SAC apps using JavaScript, HTML, and CSS
• Design data-dense planning interfaces (forms, grids, workflows, dashboards)
• Ensure accessibility per Section 508 and performance with enterprise data volumes
• Support customer demos, usability testing and defect resolution during implementation
